Smile like a Smiley :) :)

Vaangana Vanakamna ,   From the beginning man was busy finding a way to communicate with his fellow beings. Starting from signs- signals-alphabets-pigeon post-telephone- telegraph. Then came the  giants-Internet and Mobile phones. People now  “Chat” without opening their mouths.  :p Thats when the smileys became a popular culture. A smiley is a human face , intially made with the keybaord keys. It then emerged into yellow faces , with black eyes and mouth. Now there are wide range of smileys apart from the faces.  The basic ones are :-) and :-(  The smiley was said to be documented first by a computer scientist ,Scott Fahlman in the year 1982. He called them "joke markers" 19-Sep-82 11:44 Scott E. Fahlman :-) From: Scott E. Fahlman <Fahlman at Cmu-20c> I propose that the following character sequence for joke markers: :-) Read it sideways. Will I be Rejected??

Dear Friends, I recently read about an author who once sent her writing to a popular magazine. She had enclosed a self addressed envelope. She was so sure she is going to be rejected. When the mail came back from the magazine containing her script, she didn't open it and tossed it away. And didn't attempt to write again. Five years later while vacating the room she found the parcel and opened it .She was surprised to see along with her script was a small note saying -"Your writing was good, could you please add some more quotes and send it back to us immediately, we want to publish it." That shock I hope you can imagine. Not only she doubted herself but she didn't write for five years thinking she is not good at it. If only she had opened it that day! Many of us do this. We miss all the good opportunities "assuming" we are not good enough. How many out there are good singers but only you are aware of that fact. How many were dancers in school, but ...

It is the most difficult thing I have encountered- Growing up,Dealing with the change.                                             College to corporate transition was not so easy. Let me put you in my shoes-First of all you dint dream of working in an IT company. You are  in an unknown place with no knowledge of the native language( and your hindi is bad too)You get a place to stay with a Bed and a cupboard. You are no more in College. No more bunking and sleeping whenever you want to.You start to work or atleast act like you have work. Act all professional.Goi...

That Liquid and Gas might Kill you one day!!

Hello my dear friends who I care about,                                                     Today I got an opportunity to volunteer for a Hospice called Karunashraya which provides palliative care to terminally ill cancer patients. Its a very beautiful place.People who are pretty sure that, they are going to die, and dont have facilities come here to spend their last few days peacefully. My work got delayed and so I got some time to observe the people over there.                                                Many came with their families to visit their loved ones, they were not very sad as I expected . Probably they were mentally ready for anything. From a kid playing happily to a lady who wanted to join her neighbour in the hospice to a...
